Limited Warranty Terms, Definitions and Conditions

 

8650 Restoration Limited 3-year Warranty shall apply to all materials and labor supplied by Contractor on wood surface work contracted by homeowner in original contract. This may be subject to altitude, UV, high winds, weather, and acts of God and their subsequent damage to the home. Any damage inflicted by the homeowner by personal projects or decorations, vandalism, or pet and animal damage is explicitly not covered.

 

Warrantied Scope of Work

8650 Cabin Restoration, also known as 8650 Restoration, is a log surface, wood surface, deck surface, and hardwood floor surface restoration contractor. All materials and workmanship on the restoration of these surfaces are warrantied for 3 years for defects of Sashco brand materials and listed workmanship and labor on these surfaces in the original contract.

 

Log surfaces are warrantied for 3 years against defects in Sashco products or application defects on all surfaces listed in the original contract. Log rot repairs are not covered under any warranty as rot occurs generally due to a defect in architectural design or improper build. Any damage inflicted by the homeowner by personal projects or decorations, vandalism, or pet and animal damage is explicitly not covered. Colors lighter than Red Cedar on any surface of the home are always homeowner’s demand and not advised by 8650 Restoration at high elevations (above 6500 ft.) due to lack of pigment that provides protection against high UV light exposure. The lighter colors include Natural, Clear, Wheat, Autumn Aspen, Bronze Pine, and Hazelnut. These colors carry a 1 year warranty against product failure resulting in peeling or cracking, Fading is not covered. These colors are ones that homeowners may choose against the advice of 8650 Restoration at high elevation.

Wood siding is warrantied for 3 years against defects in Sashco products or application defects on all surfaces listed in the original contract. Chinking patches, also known as “chinking” or “chinking repairs,” that are listed in the original contract are covered for 3 years due to the rapid expansion and contraction of logs in high UV, high altitude, and high wind settings. Decorative chinking on log siding that is repaired carries a 3 year warranty on that repair(s) only. Any damage inflicted by the homeowner by personal projects or decorations, vandalism, prying, repairing, pulling on, or pet and animal damage is explicitly not covered. If a homeowner has more than 50 linear feet of total repair, we suggest a consultation with re-chinking with a licensed chinking company for the home. 8650 is not a chinking company; we only perform small patching of chinking under 50 linear feet.

 

Hardwood floors are warrantied for 1 year against defects in products and workmanship if using Minwax products for floors listed in the original contract. This does not cover any damage done by pets or furniture, and again, any damage inflicted by the homeowner by personal projects or decorations, vandalism, or pet and animal damage is explicitly not covered. Water damage after completion is not covered under warranty. Violation of 7 Day Cure Agreement or Customer FAQ Agreement will void the warranty.

 

Deck surfaces and rails (foot rail, handrail, and spindles) using Sashco products are warrantied for 2 years from defects in products and workmanship for surfaces listed in the original contract. Any decks at high altitudes (above 6500 ft.) in full sun with no tree cover or shade (i.e. porch cover, awnings, shade cloths, etc.) shall be warrantied for only 1 year due to Colorado VOC restrictions as products made for these altitudes are no longer available. Any damage inflicted by the homeowner by personal projects or decorations, patio furniture, outdoor cooking grills, cleated or sharp-heeled footwear, vandalism, or pet and any animal damage is explicitly not covered.

 

 

 

 

Warranty Procedure

After 90 days from completion of the restoration contract, if the homeowner discovers any of the covered products listed in the original contract to be defective under the terms and conditions above, the homeowner is to contact 8650 Cabin Restoration LLC by email, snail mail, or text message only within 10 days. The customer is required to take a small piece of blue painter’s tape, place it next to the defect, and send a photo and location of the defect. 8650 Restoration strives to remedy warranty repairs within 2 weeks of notification, however in busy season (May 1 through October 15), or due to weather and fires, 8650 Cabin Restoration LLC has up to 6 months to complete the repair. *Industry and legal standard is 1 year to make warranty repairs. If the homeowner performs the repairs themselves or in any way tampers with the general area of the repair within this 6-month time period, they will void any and all warranty of that individual wall or combined walls, including and up to the entire property.

 

Threats, coercion, interference with staff, harassment of owners or staff, attempts at extortion, intentional acts of vandalism to property, non-payment of services to 8650 Cabin Restoration LLC, or any of its vendors, suppliers or subcontractors, and violating the signed Customer FAQ Agreements will also void the warranty.

 

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE ONLY EXPRESS WARRANTY EXTENDED TO OWNER BY CONTRACTOR. ANY ITEMS, AREAS, PRODUCTS OR PREVIOUS CONTRACTOR DAMAGE OR WORK AND CONDITIONS NOT SPECIFICALLY COVERED BY THE CONTRACTED WORK WITH THIS WARRANTY ARE EXCLUDED FROM COVERAGE AND IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF HOMEOWNER.
